How did Pingala become the prince?. Describe.

King Vidyadhara had no children. To find his successor, he distributed seeds to all the children. The child who grows the best plant would be the prince or the princess. He had given the roasted seeds. They would never grow. But, all the children came with beautiful plants. Pingala had an empty pot. The king knew Pingala's honesty. Thus he selected Pingala as his successor.

2.Anna and the fat boy became true friends. How?. Describe it.

Ans. Anna was playing with her paper boats in the stream. Then, the fat boy overturned her boat. She became angry. Her aunt, Arundhati made boats for both of them. When Anna played with her new boat, it caught in a heap of mud and stones. Suddenly, the fat boy saved her boat. They smiled at each other. They became good friends.

3.How did Ivan learn the language of birds? Describe.

Ans. One day,Ivan was sent to forest to fetch firewood. There was heavy rain with lightning and thunder. He stood under a large tree. There were four small birdies in a nest. There was no one to protect them. Ivan protected them with his clothes. When the mother bird came back, she thanked Ivan. She agreed to teach him the bird's language.

4.How did the boy lose his parents in the festival ground? Describe.

Ans. The boy was fascinated by the sights in the festival ground. He wanted to get toys, sweets, balloons and garlands. But, his parents did not mind him. He wanted to go on giant wheel. He looked his parents. They were not there.

5. How did the shoemaker and his wife become rich? Describe.

Ans. The shoemaker and his wife were very poor. They had only a few leather.At night, two elves came and made pretty shoes. This was repeated.Many customers came to buy his shoes. They became rich.

There are many people in the festival ground. So it is a busy place. There are elephants and horses in it. There are balloonmen, sweet sellers and flower sellers. People buy things from the shops. There is a giant wheel. It is a happy place.
